About Els Encants Vells (Mercat dels Encants)

Els Encants Vells operates Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 9am to 8pm at Carrer de los Castillejos 158, near Plaça de les Glòries. This flea market claims to be one of Europe's oldest, with roots possibly dating back to 1300.

The market moved to its current striking building in 2013. The structure has a distinctive mirrored roof that reflects the surrounding cityscape and creates interesting light patterns inside.

Over 500 vendors occupy the three-story space, including 156 stalls, 78 permanent shops, and 40 auction spaces. You'll find everything from vintage furniture and clothing to antiques, books, electronics, and local artifacts.

Special auctions for traders happen early mornings on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 7am to 9am. Regular shoppers should arrive after 9am when all stalls are open to the public.

Saturday draws the biggest crowds according to reviewers. If you prefer browsing without shoulder-to-shoulder shopping, visit on weekday market days instead.

Many stalls close during August for summer holidays. The market has parking in the same building, accessible via Carrer Castillejos 158.
