About Atarazanas Market
The market hall of the Mercado Central de Atarazanas occupies the site of a former 14th-century shipyard, and the current building was constructed between 1876 and 1879. Inside the three-nave structure, dozens of stalls are divided into sections for fish and seafood, meat products, and fresh produce. In recent years, several bars and tapas stands have appeared along the edges of the hall. The market opens Monday to Saturday in the morning and early afternoon, serving both residents and visitors.
